The name “Pigeon Creek Primitives” comes from my roots on Pigeon Creek, in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, in Johnson County, just a little ways from the town of Paintsville. There, on a hillside, lay my great-grandparents in an old family cemetery, right next door to a little Baptist church. They lived in a still-standing farmhouse about ¼ mile from the church and spent their lives farming in that winding bottom between the mountains. My grandpa inherited a large portion of the farm and my granny left it to her sons. Our dads divided it between the grandchildren before they would leave this earth. My portion lies just west of the church and is completely undeveloped, just as I like it. I hope to someday have a home there. They are made of a rusty metal with two crows and one of my electric taper candles rooted in a rusty little bucket on the base! They stand about 8" wide and 6-8" high. The amber colored, silicon dipped bulb is included! I only charge for exact shipping by USPS, based on US zip codes. Price:$ 19.99 Click image to enlarge MASON JAR LAMPS These lamps are made with 1 quart canning jars with vintage zinc lids. The jars vary between Mason, Kerr, and Ball brands. The lights inside are handmade electric taper candles that have a 6 foot cord which exits from a grommeted hole near the base of the jar and has an on/off switch. There is also a homespun tie around the neck of each jar. They also look especially cute in the wire scalding baskets that are so popular with mason jars!
